Full description

Embark on an unforgettable private journey through the contrasting worlds of Old Delhi and New Delhi, a full-day exploration that unveils the capital’s rich tapestry of history, culture, and modernity in a personalized, immersive experience. From the narrow, spice-scented lanes of Old Delhi, where Mughal-era monuments and bustling bazaars pulse with life, to the wide, tree-lined boulevards of New Delhi, adorned with colonial landmarks and contemporary elegance, this tour offers a seamless blend of the ancient and the new. Travel in a private vehicle with a dedicated guide, delving into iconic sites like the Red Fort, Jama Masjid, India Gate, and Qutub Minar, while savoring the freedom to linger at spots that captivate you most. Ideal for those craving a deep dive into Delhi’s dual identity, this exploration promises a curated adventure tailored to your pace and curiosity.

Red Fort

Looming over Old Delhi like a crimson crown, the Red Fort rises as a monumental fortress of Mughal power, its towering sandstone walls stretching 2 kilometers, built by Shah Jahan in 1648 as the centerpiece of his new capital, Shahjahanabad, a UNESCO-listed relic that once dazzled with marble palaces and now stands as a symbol of India’s storied past, inviting visitors to step through its Lahori Gate into a world of imperial splendor where history breathes in every corner.

Jama Masjid

Crowning Old Delhi with its towering minarets and vast courtyard, Jama Masjid stands as India’s largest mosque, a Mughal marvel commissioned by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1656, its red sandstone and white marble facade gleaming over the chaotic streets below, offering a serene sanctuary amidst the urban storm, its grandeur a testament to the empire’s architectural prowess and spiritual devotion. Built to house 25,000 worshippers, its sprawling plaza—reached by steep steps flanked by hawkers selling kebabs and prayer caps—opens to a grand prayer hall adorned with arched niches and calligraphic verses, while its two 40-meter-high minarets beckon the adventurous to climb for panoramic views of Delhi’s rooftops, a vista alive with kites and the distant hum of Chandni Chowk, a reward for those who brave the narrow ascent.

India Gate

Standing proud at the heart of New Delhi, India Gate arches 42 meters into the sky, its honey-hued sandstone glowing under the sun, a war memorial built in 1931 by Sir Edwin Lutyens to honor 70,000 Indian soldiers who died in World War I, its eternal flame—the Amar Jawan Jyoti—flickering beneath as a tribute to the fallen, a solemn yet striking centerpiece of the city’s colonial legacy that bridges history with modern pride. Flanked by manicured lawns and a long reflecting pool along Rajpath, it mirrors the Arc de Triomphe in its grandeur, its walls inscribed with names of the departed, while the buzz of ice-cream vendors, kite flyers, and tourists snapping selfies fills the air, blending reverence with the vibrancy of contemporary Delhi life, its open plaza a stage for both reflection and leisure.

Qutub Minar

Soaring 73 meters into Delhi’s skyline, Qutub Minar pierces the heavens as India’s tallest brick minaret, a UNESCO-listed marvel of Indo-Islamic architecture begun in 1192 by Qutb-ud-din Aibak, its fluted red sandstone and marble tiers rising from the ruins of ancient Lal Kot to proclaim the might of the Delhi Sultanate, a towering testament to medieval ambition set amidst a sprawling complex of tombs and mosques that whispers of a vanished era.

Humayun’s Tomb

Nestled in New Delhi, this Mughal mausoleum from 1570 sprawls across gardens and water channels, its red sandstone and marble dome a precursor to the Taj Mahal, built for Emperor Humayun by his widow, a UNESCO site radiating symmetry and serenity, offering a tranquil detour into Mughal artistry and history.

Lotus Temple

Shaped like a blooming lotus, this Baháʼí House of Worship in South Delhi glows with white marble petals, its 27 arches encircling a serene prayer hall open to all faiths, set amid tranquil pools and gardens, a modern architectural gem built in 1986 that provides a peaceful pause from the tour’s intensity.

Raj Ghat

A simple black marble platform by the Yamuna marks Raj Ghat, Gandhi’s cremation site from 1948, surrounded by lush lawns and an eternal flame, a quiet spot for reflection on India’s Father of the Nation, easily slotted between Old and New Delhi stops for a moment of calm reverence.

Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum

Near India Gate, this museum within the President’s estate showcases India’s presidential history with artifacts, photos, and a glimpse of Mughal Gardens (seasonal), a modern contrast to Old Delhi’s antiquity, offering a deeper look at New Delhi’s governmental heart if you extend your stop.
