The selam portion presents us with a story of humanity, usually consisting of 4 segments: the first selam conveys how humans come to terms with their status as created beings, the second selam embodies the rapture felt when confronted with God’s omnipotent power, the third a transformation of rapture at God’s power into love, and the fourth how humans return to serve. This performance appears to be a conversation with the cosmos. You will leave with an appreciation for the diverse intangible cultural heritages of our species.
