Your Experience

Nestled just 30km from Rome lies Ostia Antica, an expansive archaeological park covering 100 hectares. Once a bustling harbor city during ancient times, the area saw significant growth as part of its Roman history. The name 'Ostia' derives from Latin, meaning ‘mouth,’ due to its location near the Tiber River.

As you explore Ostia Antica with your ticket, explore extensive excavations that showcase a city remarkably well preserved over time. Highlights include an ancient theatre, numerous houses, baths, and temples adorned with exquisite mosaics and frescoes. Although today’s coastline has shifted several kilometers away from its original position, the park offers a vivid glimpse of Rome's past.
