Neidong National Forest Recreation Area was established in 1984. Located at an altitude of 230-800 meters, it is bisected by the Neidong Stream, creating a humid and warm environment that makes it a veritable fern paradise. Within just a few hundred meters of the waterfall viewing trail, nearly 65 species of ferns can be found, including rare weeping cypress and vine fern, all delicate guests growing on large trees. The area was formerly known as "Baby Valley," supposedly because of the abundance of frogs whose croaking echoed through the valley at night. You might even spot frogs in the ditches along the trail! Neidong Waterfall is the highlight of the recreation area. At the end of the waterfall viewing trail, three distinct layers of scenery offer visitors a diverse experience and a refreshing fragrance of negative ions.
