Special Exhibition "Washoku - Japanese Nature and People's Wisdom" Ticket Reservation (Kyoto・Event)
Opening in Kyoto in April 2025! Approximately 230,000 people enjoyed the profound world of Japanese cuisine at the Tokyo venue In 2013, "washoku" (traditional Japanese cuisine) was registered as an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO. Ten years have passed since then. The special exhibition "Washoku - Japanese Nature, People's Wisdom", which started at the National Museum of Nature and Science in Tokyo and has since toured the country, is now coming to Kyoto, the home of washoku. Japanese cuisine, which is gaining more and more attention around the world, will be introduced from various perspectives, including science and history, along with a wide variety of specimens and materials. We will explore the charms of Japanese cuisine, which may seem familiar but is surprisingly unknown, from the diverse ingredients nurtured by the diverse natural environment of the Japanese archipelago, to the techniques born from the wisdom and ingenuity of people, historical changes, and even the future. We are also planning to hold original events at the Kyoto venue, so please look forward to them.
