The JR Southern Kyushu Pass can only be used by non-Japanese citizens.

When entering Japan please receive proof of being a 'temporary visitor' with a stamp or seal on your passport.

If you're using an automated gate when entering Japan, please approach the airport staff and receive a certificate from your passport with a stamp or seal.

Usage of 'Green Class' cars requires an additional fee.
Area covered: In addition to the Southern Kyushu areas, the pass is valid in Kumamoto, Misumi, Hitoyoshi, Kirishima-onsen, Kirishima-jingū, Kagoshima, Ibusuki, Nishi-Ōyama, Miyazaki, Obi, Nangō, and Nobeoka.

Seat reservations may be difficult during weekends and local holidays (29 Apr to 6 May, 13 to 16 Aug, 26 Dec to 3 Jan).

Seat reservations can be made up to 6 times without an extra fee.
