What to Bring
- Comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are essential; although most of SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast is indoors, walking between zones will be required.
- Your booking confirmation should be either digital or printed when you visit.
If visiting with a carer, bring your National Companion Card for free entry for the carers.
Seal Swim Essentials
- A towel is mandatory for this experience; please bring one of your own.
All jewellery must be removed before participating in the swim. If you cannot remove it, participation will not be allowed.
Shark Dive Xtreme Preparation
- Pack swimwear to wear under the wetsuit provided for your dive.
- Avoid consuming alcohol on the night before your dive.
- You may need to carry up to 40 kg of scuba gear during the experience.
Medical clearance from a qualified dive doctor is required if you have conditions like asthma, heart disease, epilepsy, diabetes, chest or ear problems, high blood pressure, neurobiological disorders, recent injuries, or surgeries.
What’s Not Allowed in Shark Dive Xtreme and Seal Swim
In both experiences:
Pregnant guests are not permitted to participate.
Specifically for Shark Dive Xtreme:
- Guests must have medical clearance if they have or previously had conditions such as asthma, heart disease, epilepsy, neurobiological disorders, diabetes, chest issues (including pneumothorax), sinus problems, ear concerns or surgeries, high blood pressure, recent injuries, surgeries, or psychological conditions.
- Alcohol consumption the night before is prohibited.
- No flights are allowed within 12 hours post-dive.
The minimum age for participation is 14; those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult also participating in the dive.
Specifically for Seal Swim:
- Guests with seafood allergies cannot participate.
- Jewellery removal before swimming is mandatory, and wearing it during participation isn't allowed.
- Poor swimmers or non-swimmers are not permitted to join the experience.
Participants must be aged 13 years or older.
Ages for Behind-the-Scenes Tour
This tour is available for guests aged 3 years and above.
Accessibility Information
In the Aquarium:
- The SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast aquarium offers full wheelchair accessibility.
- A valid National Companion Card allows carers accompanying disabled guests to enter free of charge.
Certified assistance animals are welcome inside the facility.
Behind-the-Scenes Tour:
This tour is accessible by wheelchair, except for the viewing area at the top of the Oceanarium which isn't accessible.
Seal Swim & Shark Dive Xtreme Accessibility:
- These experiences are not wheelchair-friendly.
- Guests must independently or with assistance enter and exit pools or the Ocean Tunnel, and they should be confident swimmers.
Verbal communication skills are necessary for training and safety instructions during these activities.

Shark Dive Xtreme Requirements:
