What to bring

Ensure that everyone in your group, including children, carries a valid passport or ID card as admission staff might request these documents to verify age or eligibility for discounted rates. Additionally, wearing comfortable shoes is recommended due to the significant amount of walking involved.

What’s not allowed

Remember to pack wisely since food & beverages, narcotic substances, and sharp metallic tools are prohibited on this experience. Adhere to a strict dress code: Shoulders and knees must be covered; avoid tank tops, strapless shirts, short shorts, short skirts, exposed backs or bellies, see-through clothing, flip-flops, bare feet, swimwear, festive attire, or attention-drawing designs for religious or promotional purposes. Note that hats and caps are generally not permitted inside except for specific reasons such as religion, spirituality, or medical needs. Unauthorized photographic, sound, and/or video recording equipment is also prohibited unless prior written approval from the Press Department has been obtained. Large bags, rucksacks, luggage, and personal items will be checked at access control.

Entry to the basilica is strictly timed; you must arrive by your scheduled time or within 15 minutes thereafter, as late arrivals are not accommodated. For a smoother visit, consider arriving early and scheduling visits during off-peak times like weekdays or early mornings. Fast-track entry allows bypassing of ticket lines but requires passing through security checks—expect brief waits particularly during busy periods.Access to the towers is restricted for children under 6 years old, unaccompanied minors under 18, individuals with reduced mobility, visual impairments, vertigo, cardiovascular issues, or other health conditions. Entry into the basilica must be accompanied by your guide; refer to the meeting point details on your ticket voucher. Be aware that tower access may close suddenly due to adverse weather without prior notice. When descending from the towers, stairs are mandatory as elevator use is limited to ascending only.
