Getting started

Your Penguin Passport experience begins with check-in at SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium. You'll be fitted with special snow gear before joining a small group for a 45-minute guided encounter inside the penguin habitat. No prior experience is needed, just bring socks and a sense of adventure.

What to expect

• Real ice access: Step inside the sub-Antarctic exhibit and walk on ice with King and Gentoo penguins in their snowy home.

• Up-close penguin encounter: Get closer than ever to SEA LIFE’s most curious residents as they waddle, slide, and swim around you.

Know before you go

What to bring

• Wear/bring socks on the day of the experience. Failure to do so may result in the tour being cancelled.

What’s not allowed

• Guests must not come into contact with birds 24 hours prior to your Penguin Passport experience.

• No jewelry, watches, mobile phones or cameras can be taken on this tour.

Accessibility

• Guests with flu, cold, gastro/respiration infection within 48 hours of their experience must contact the venue and reschedule their visit.

• This experience is not wheelchair accessible.

• Your guide dogs are welcome at the venue. Ensure you contact the zoo at least 48 hours before the date of your visit.

Additional information

• The experience is open to guests aged 12 years and above. Guests between 12 to 15 years must be accompanied by a participating guardian aged 18 and above, whereas guests between 16 to 17 years of age must have a guardian aged 18+ present to sign a waiver at check-in.

• All-day admission to SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium is included with your ticket.

• This experience is limited to 4 participants with 1 guide for the entire group.
