Must Know Before You Go

What to Bring for Comfortable Visits

If you plan on exploring the park thoroughly, it's best to wear walking shoes that provide good support—there are quite a few steps and uneven paths throughout. In the summer months, bring along a hat or cap to shield yourself from strong sunlight, as well as some water to stay hydrated in warm weather.

Accessibility Options Available

Park Güell provides two free wheelchairs for visitors with mobility challenges (availability may vary). Additionally, there are three designated parking spaces for people with reduced mobility at the tourist coach car park.

Things to Keep in Mind Before Visiting

If you're visiting between April and August, be prepared for long lines at entry. The park has three different entrances—each offers a unique experience. Av. del Santuari de Sant Josep de la Muntanya includes escalators but is quite steep. For those arriving by coach, Carretera del Carmel (nº 23) is the most convenient option. If you want to reach the Monumental Zone directly, use Carrer d’Olot.

If climbing steps and stairs isn't your thing, consider taking Bus #24 or a taxi instead of walking. This will drop you off near Carretera del Carmel entrance—just 100 meters from the stop. From there, it’s another short 100-meter walk to reach the main monuments, which are mostly flat for about 200 meters.

Children under six years old can enter free of charge with a complimentary ticket. Be sure to reserve their tickets when purchasing your own to avoid any delays at entry.

You're allowed to bring food and drinks into Park Güell, but they must be consumed in the designated picnic areas only. The audio guide is accessible through the staybook app—download instructions will come with your ticket and can also be used offline. Don’t forget your headphones for an enhanced experience.

Tips for Visitors

  • Arrive early or during off-peak hours to enjoy fewer crowds and more time exploring Gaudí’s iconic park at your own pace.
  • Wear comfortable shoes and bring water—there's a lot of walking on uneven paths, especially in summer when temperatures can be high.
  • If you’re interested in the audio guide, select your preferred language in advance to make entry smoother and avoid delays at the gate.
  • Plan to use the escalator access at Avinguda del Santuari de Sant Josep de la Muntanya for easier entry into the park.
