[Amanohashidate] One of Japan’s Three Scenic Views, Amanohashidate is located in Miyazu Bay in northern Kyoto Prefecture. This natural sandbar stretches approximately 3.6 km, spanning between Miyazu Bay and the Aso Sea, resembling a “bridge connecting heaven and earth.”
[Ine Bay] Surrounded by mountains on three sides, Ine Bay mirrors the iconic boathouses and sky on its crystal-clear waters. Whether viewed from shore or by boat, the serene reflections create one of Japan’s most poetic coastal scenes.
Seagull Feeding & Bay Cruise: While cruising Ine Bay, you can enjoy feeding the seagulls! Flocks of seagulls will fly around and circle the boat, with some even catching food from your hand—an adorable experience not to be missed.
Amanohashidate Sandbar: Famous not only for its “flying dragon” aerial view, the sandbar itself is a long white-sand walking path. Lined with soft sand, blue waters, and pine forests, it forms a stunning “white sand, green pine” landscape—one of Japan’s Top 100 Views.
Amanohashidate Swing Bridge: Located at the southern end of the sandbar, this pedestrian bridge connects the land to the sandbar. Its unique feature: it rotates! When a boat passes, the bridge slowly swings 90° to let it through, then returns for pedestrians—a rare movable bridge in Japan.
Famous Viewpoint – “Mata-no-zoki”: The most famous way to see Amanohashidate is from the mountaintop observation deck using the “Mata-no-zoki” (look between your legs) technique. When viewed this way, the sandbar appears like a “flying dragon reflected on the water,” giving Amanohashidate its iconic dragon-like perspective.
