Your Experience

The Krakow-Plaszow Concentration Camp Tour takes you to Plaszow, established shortly after Poland's invasion by Germany in 1940 as a forced labor camp. By 1941, it had expanded into a full concentration camp, initiating the deportation of Jews from the Krakow ghetto on October 28, 1942.

Plaszow served as both a source of labor for military factories and a quarry. The life within the camp is depicted in Steven Spielberg's film "Schindler’s List" (1993), inspired by Oskar Schindler's story. Today, this site features sparsely wooded hills and fields with a prominent memorial to all victims from 1964, alongside several smaller memorials.

Located near Krakow in southern Poland, the area is now a nature preserve. Due to its status as such, Steven Spielberg constructed an accurate replica of the camp at Liban Quarry, located about one hundred meters away. The tour includes visits to all these significant points.
