FAQs

The pass covers unlimited train travel in designated areas during the validity period (2 or 3 non-consecutive days). Separate fees apply for limited express reserved seats on Nankai, Kintetsu, Hankyu, Keihan, and other lines. Extra fares apply if you travel outside the designated validity zone. Be sure to check with station staff before boarding. Carry your pass carefully and avoid placing it near magnets (like smartphone cases) as this may damage the strip. If the magnetic strip fails, the pass can be reissued at major stations, but lost passes will not be replaced. You may be asked to present the back of your pass when traveling on some transportation company routes. Discounts are valid only at participating venues within the pass validity period. Guides accompanying eligible tourists must purchase the pass at the same time. See the Kansai railway map here.
Carry your physical ticket and passport to present at the train station(s).
The trains are wheelchair and stroller/stroller accessible. Each paying adult (13+) can bring up to two children aged 0–5 for free; extra children require a child ticket.
The pass is valid only for foreign tourists on a short-stay visa; not available to Japanese passport holders. The pass is for one person only and cannot be shared. JR lines, Randen (Keifuku Railroad), Hieizan Sakamoto Cable, and some other trains are not covered; buses are excluded. Using the pass illegally will lead to invalidation, collection, and additional fare charges under the transport company's regulations. Passes cannot be refunded once exchanged or if services are suspended by a transport company.
