Discover How Mines Work at El Soplao Cave
This cave system was first discovered and utilized during the early 20th century with the construction of La Florida mines. The name ‘El Soplao’ is derived from a mining term describing the sensation of blowing air when tunneling in low-oxygen conditions.
As you navigate through mine galleries, explore the history and cultural significance tied to this ancient economic activity. Your journey concludes at the inner station where you’ll take the El Soplao train back out to the outer station.
