An Informative Drive from Malaga to Seville

Get picked up from your hotel in Malaga and drive past villages and riverside towns; tokens of a vast history. From the old Phoenician Ispal, being one of the Taifa kingdoms in the Middle Ages and the capital of the Almohad Empire in Al-Andalus, to its later Christian reconquest. See the Pavilions of the Ibero-American Exhibition of 1929, the Park of Maria Luisa, San Telmo Palace, the Golden Tower, and the Guadalquivir River. Stop at the famous Plaza de España Square and its magnificent azulejo tiles.

Find Serenity in the Seville Cathedral

Go to the Quarter of Santa Cruz, the Gate of Jerez, and the historical city center with the Seville Cathedral. Skip the lines to enter the largest Gothic-style religious monument in the world.

During the guided tour, see Christopher Columbus' tomb and the serene Patio of the Orange tree. Inside, admire the Gothic high altar (20m high and 23m wide), which took 80 years to complete. It is carved out of wood and holds three tonnes of gold! Exit the cathedral from the Door of Forgiveness (originally the entrance to the mosque) and study its intricate carvings.

Climb the Giralda Tower

The bell tower, Giralda, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987, belongs to the Moorish era. It used to be the minaret of a mosque. There are no stairs, but climb the 35 wide ramps (designed so officials could go up on horses or donkeys) to reach the top, from where you can see the beautiful vista of the whole city. Explore the city on your own after this.
