This small-group experience combines the thrill of a husky-pulled sleigh ride with an expert-led Aurora hunt, making it the perfect Arctic adventure for couples, families, and night-sky enthusiasts.

Getting started

Your evening begins with a convenient pick-up from the Santa Claus Holiday Village or the Nordic Unique Travels Office. You’ll meet your friendly English-speaking guide, who will help you suit up in warm overalls, boots, and gloves before heading into the crisp winter night.

Husky sleigh ride

At the husky camp, you’ll be greeted by the sound of eager sled dogs ready for their nighttime run. After a short safety introduction, settle comfortably into your sled and enjoy a 5 km ride through snow-covered forests and open plains. The rhythmic padding of the huskies’ paws and the hush of the snow create a truly magical atmosphere beneath the stars.

Aurora hunting

After your sleigh ride, warm up with a steaming cup of hot blueberry juice while your guide checks real-time Aurora forecasts. You’ll then travel by car to a secluded forest clearing or lakeside spot, chosen for its dark skies and panoramic views. Here, you’ll learn how to photograph the Northern Lights and, if the weather is kind, watch the sky dance in shades of green and violet.

A cozy, guided Arctic experience

Throughout the evening, your professional guide shares stories about life in Lapland and offers tips for spotting the Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora. With small-group comfort, included winter gear, and seamless round-trip transfers, this 3.5-hour adventure blends excitement and serenity in equal measure, an ideal way to experience the beauty of the Arctic night.
