From June 26 to July 4, 2025, the palace will be shut. However, Royal Edinburgh Ticket holders can access The King’s Gallery and receive a Palace Guidebook instead.
Your ticket guarantees entry into Edinburgh Castle by choosing from available slots upon voucher validation; bookings cannot be made in advance. Even if sold out on the castle's website, tickets are reserved for these customers.
The 48-hour period begins with your voucher’s validation and includes visits to both Edinburgh Castle and Royal Yacht Britannia. The ticket remains valid beyond this timeframe for visiting Palace of Holyroodhouse too.
Upon validating the voucher, you will receive a Royal Edinburgh Ticket with tear-off sections for Britannia and the Palace, plus a tour ticket. Your castle entry is reserved at that time.

Children aged 15 or younger must be accompanied by an adult or senior citizen during their visit.
