The Dachau Concentration Camp was established in early 1933, marking one of the earliest instances under Nazi control. This period stretched from 1933 to 1945 and saw this site become a symbol of oppression across Germany. The memorial that now stands here aims to highlight the atrocities committed by the German Third Reich during its reign. Every year, over 800,000 visitors come to pay their respects at this powerful location in Munich.
Your journey begins from either the Radius Tours Office or Marienplatz depending on your chosen ticket option. Getting there takes around 45 minutes by bus or train. Once you arrive, a guided tour will start with a visit to Jourhaus, where the phrase “Arbeit Macht Frei” is carved into the entrance—translating to "Work sets you free." This chilling message remains one of the most haunting reminders of what occurred within these walls.
