Fancy hanging out with mummies, ancient marbles, and a Rosetta Stone? The British Museum’s got 8 million stories waiting, and you don’t even need to pay a dime.

Go on an epic time-traveling adventure

The British Museum’s 60+ galleries are a feast of world history, each one sharing its own unique story. Start in Ancient Egypt, where the mummies and the Rosetta Stone will transport you back in time. Then, head to Assyria, where you can explore royal lion hunts carved into stone. Greece and Rome are all about classical beauty, with treasures like the Parthenon Sculptures and stunning vases. Africa’s galleries are full of bold and beautiful artifacts, while Asia takes you on a journey through China, India, and Japan with incredible sculptures and textiles. The Americas are packed with fascinating pieces, like the Lewis Chessmen and Aztec treasures. It’s the ultimate history tour!

Enjoy ever-changing exhibitions

The British Museum always has something cool going on with its rotating exhibitions. Ancient India: Living Traditions (May 22, 2025–October 19, 2025) showcases 180 objects, including sculptures, paintings, and manuscripts that look at early devotional art in India and its origins. Then there’s Mumbai + London: New Perspectives on the Ancient World (April 24, 2025–January 11, 2026), which examines three rarely-seen-together sculptures from Egypt, India, and Rome. These exhibitions give you a glimpse into the world’s rich stories, all in one place.
